Snarky Puppy to open Strings of Autumn 2022
With the coming of Spring we're pleased to announce the first name of this year's festival line-up: the Prague debut of acclaimed jazz/R&B outfit Snarky Puppy, who come to the festival on the back of their recent Grammy win for the album Live at the Royal Albert Hall. Tickets here.
We're working on the programmes of both festivals
When will this year's Prague Sounds and Strings of Autumn festivals take place? When will you present the programme? What music are you putting on this year? These are some of the questions you've been asking us. Rest assured, we're working hard on the programmes of both festivals and we can promise they'll be worth waiting for. Like every year, you can look forward to interesting artists, an original mix of genres, tradtional (and less traditional) concert halls, and most of all to the powerful experiences you'll take away from evenings spent at both our festivals.
Prague Sounds 2021 Comes to an End
The festival is over, but the sound of Prague goes on. We'd like to thank all those who helped create such a special atmosphere, not only on the floating stage itself, but also on the embankments, the bridge, and from pedalos and row-boats on the river itself. And let's not forget the calls of birds, the bells of passing trams, the occasional rumble of a car going by, the slosh of water under the pedalos: these, too, are all Prague Sounds. The new sound of Prague. The new sound of Strings of Autumn.
The Prague Sounds Festival will end with Lizz Wright
We caught Lizz Wright before rehearsal for the final concert on the Floating Stage. You can look forward to a strong closing of the festival, which will be in the spirit of gospel.
Yo-Yo Ma's Day of Action
As part of his Bach Project, Yo-Yo Ma dedicates the day following his concert to workshop discussions with key members of the local community, and sometimes takes to the streets of the city he's visiting to surprise the locals with an impromptu performance. In our case, though, with a nod to his concert on the floating stage, Yo-Yo took to the water, performing with Jiří Slavík from aboard a boat in the Certovka lagoon.
The Prague Sounds Festival began to sound on the surface of the Vltava
Jiří Suchý kicked-off Prague Sounds with a memorable performance and welcomed the opening-night audience with open arms.
Yo-Yo Ma To Play Bach's Solo Suites in Open-air Concert on the Vltava
Yo-Yo Ma's Prague Sounds concert on September 4th has been moved from the Rudolfinum to the festival's floating stage on the Vltava river. The spectacular new venue promises a night to remember in the heart of the city, with ticket-holders watching from prime seats on the river and others from nearby bridges, embankments, islands, and even row-boats and pedalos.
More details about the concert here.
